Font at St Leonard's Seaford
Location: Seaford East Sussex
The unique enamelled steel affusion font for St Leonard's church was designed to be a moveable piece such that the worship space could be more veratile. The font is graced by a hand enamelled vessel in intense blue, which visually hovers above a beautifully turned ash stand.
The vessel's curved surface holds a multiplicity of abstract forms. This swirling colour and imagery is a symbol of water and baptism, and is hand worked by Mel Howse.
